What We Do
Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace
In any given year, around one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health illness and it’s estimated that the impact of Mental Health Mental health conditions cost UK employers an estimated £26 billion a year through absenteeism, presenteeism and staff turnover.
Mental ill health can affect performance at work in the following ways:
- Difficulty in concentrating
- Taking longer to do tasks
- Difficulty in making decisions
- Difficulty in juggling a number of tasks
- Less patience with customers, clients and colleagues
A mental health condition is considered a disability if it has a long-term effect on the individual’s normal day-to-day activity. This is defined under the Equality Act 2010. Failure to support an employee with mental ill health can lead to claims of unfair treatment or discrimination and organisations run the risk of expensive legal claims and reputational damage.
We can work with you to develop a strategy that supports and promotes positive mental health in the workplace.
